Les Arcs features plenty of ski trails to satisfy skiers of all skill levels. Made up of four thoroughly modern, apartment-dominated resorts, this mountainside getaway overlooks the scenic town of Bourg-St-Maurice. It is located within an easy driving distance of Val d’Isère-Tignes, La Rosière, and Ste-Foy-Tarentaise, though there’s plenty in these four ski villages to keep visitors occupied without necessitating a drive.

The Villages

Named according to their elevation, Arcs 1600 and 1800 are comprised primarily of low-rise apartments set into the trees and populated by friendly, accommodating locals. Arc 1800 is a larger village, consisting of larger apartment blocks and three main areas featuring shopping centers and more. Arc 2000 consists of a combination of large chalet-style apartment blocks and more futuristic accommodations, while the nearby Arc 1950 is made up of smaller, more traditional buildings clustered around a scenic, traffic-free square.

Comfort and Convenience

All of these resorts are designed to offer the modern comforts and conveniences of home in a much more rural setting. Arcs 1600 and 1800 feature lodgings just a few yards away from the area’s ski lifts with a recently installed mini cable car and buses available to bring visitors in by foot. Arcs 2000 and 1950, on the other hand, are ski-in/ski-out locations, with lifts located both above and below the lodging facilities.

Scenery and Skiing

No matter where visitors choose to stay, they’ll love the views of the Nancroix valley and Mont Blanc. They’ll also love the area’s ski trails, which offer a wide variety of slopes. These include some truly excellent woodland runs, on and off piste, and a good deal of genuinely challenging skiing.

Upcoming Events

Although it’s not uncommon for event organizers to turn to Les Arcs, one of the most talked-about events for the upcoming season is probably the veterinary education conference slated for the upcoming winter. The conference will feature presentations from industry leaders such as

“Nick Bova Managing Director of BOVA UK” and will run for approximately one week in January. Of course, it will also feature plenty of free time so that participants can enjoy Les Arcs scenic views and head out on the trails for some skiing in their downtime.
